On Sunday, June 21, 2009 Amsterdam Roots Festival presents the FREE access festival day Roots Open Air at the Oosterpark in Amsterdam. From 13.00 till 21.30 international and national artists will perform on six stages. There are dance workshops and presentations and there is a big world market with more than 100 stands.
This year the festival pays special attention to the Mediterranea theme. The Mediterranean is a crossroad of cultures and that is in many ways reflected in the music. In this context, the following international groups are performing on the two main stages: Natacha Atlas & The Ensemble Mazeeka, Souad massifs, Speed Caravan, Son de la Frontera and Roy Paci & Aretuska.
