April 7 the long waiting will be rewarded. That day the complete program of The Hague Jazz will be announced. The festival will take place on June 11 and 12 in the World Forum The Hague. After the press conference The Hague Jazz organises a mini-concert with Silje Nergaard on the stage that is called the “Miles’ Home” during The Hague Jazz Festival.
A limited amount of lucky birds can be present at this unique, intimate concert of Silje Nergaard. And you can be one of them!
The Norwegian Silje Nergaard has a lot in common with the Netherlands, and especially with the Metropole Orchestra. Silje always takes pleasure in working with the Metropole Orchestra and conductor Vince Mendoza. ‘It’s been a dream come true to work with Vince, who really gets inside my music’, says Silje.
Though, this evening Silje will play a small set, and that will of course be without the Metropole Orchestra.
Silje has a new album called “A Thousand True Stories”. Silje Nergaard sees music as telling stories. Silje: ‘I really want to reach audiences, and tell them stories they can feel, and connect to their life’. This album is not only the endresult of months of hard work with a dreamalbum as the goal. This album projects, among other things, the youth of Silje when she heard Ella Fitzgerald for the first time, the start of her career as a singer and songwriter, but also of her first album with which she debuted at the age of 16 at the Molde Jazz Festival! In short, an album that tells more than a thousand stories.
Come tot his intimate concert, listen to her stories and get to know Silje.
