The biennial Dutch Jazz Competition is a competition for young contemporary, fun and unique Dutch jazz groups. The competition is organized in cooperation with the NPS and North Sea Jazz. The finals will take place at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Prizes are awarded in three categories: ‘best group’, ‘best soloist’ en ‘best own composition’.
Thursday, June 3, 2010, Bimhuis, Amsterdam (www.bimhuis.nl) from 20.30 hours: Folkert Oosterbeek Trio, Azure, Julia Oschewsky, Felix Schlarmann Group and Christian Pabst Trio.
The jury will select four groups advance to the finals on Saturday, July 10 in the Volga hall at the North Sea Jazz Festival. After the last semi-final (June 3 Bimhuis) are also the winners of the prizes  "Best Value Solist Norma" and  "SNS REAAL Compositie Best Value" was published.
